Video Editor & Digital Content Producer

We’re looking for someone to take ownership of our post-production video pipeline, from raw footage to final polished output. This is the perfect role for a creative and proactive individual who wants to make a huge impact in a start-up environment.

Main responsibilities include:

  • Long-form video editing (YouTube-focused, educational, data science explainers, flogs and updates, at least one per week)

  • Creating short-form videos (YouTube Shorts, TikTok's, Reels, etc.) from both adapted long-form content and raw footage. At least 6 per week.

  • Adding motion graphics, subtitles, emojis and effects that feel native to each platform

  • Assisting with B-roll, thumbnails and platform-optimised exports.

  • Having creative input into our content strategy, helping us improve our videos and stand out in a crowded market

  • Manage the post-production process, from organising and managing footage to final videos ready for release.

  • Occasional help with production tasks.

Frontend developer

We’re looking for someone to take ownership of our user experience. You will work closely with backend developers and the CTO on design aspects. The main implementation language will be JavaScript with some HTML and CSS. We will be leaning heavily on WebGL for scientific visualisations.

Main responsibilities include:

  • Front end feature development for our product. This will be along the lines of “Jupyter notebook” style interface, but somewhat simplified.

  • Working with data scientists to help define and implement or optimise front-end features used in individual data science projects. These features will likely start quite narrow (sufficient for recording a video) but will grow into full reusable product features in time.

  • Engage with code review process, both to incorporate feedback in your own code and provide feedback on others’.

  • Work with DevOps personnel to put your code into production.

  • Write automated tests where practical.

  • Work with Quality Assurance as required for surfacing and debugging issues.

  • Document and communicate your work clearly, including internal presentations and preparing other resources. (Option to present externally / on social media as well.)
